Program Overview

Our programs are offered to students in-person and virtually.  Our in-person programs are provided in  local libraries across the Washington, DC Metropolitan area to include Maryland and Virginia.

Gap Bridgers Tutoring Program  

Our tutoring services specifically target Math, Reading and Writing.  Our education partners work with students one-on-one or in groups. Homework assistance is also offered as part of our tutoring program to students in grades K-5th.  Students can get assistance with homework assignments for up to five-days per week.

Gap Bridgers Co-Op Program

Our Co-Op program is at the heart of our mission, providing accessible and innovative out-of-school learning that empower our students. This program is offered during the weekends to accommodate diverse family schedules and provide students with greater control over their learning journey. Our educators employ innovative teaching methods and approaches, such as project-based learning and technology integration, to make education engaging, relevant, and impactful.  This program will commence in the Winter of 2023.

 

SAT Test Prep Workshop

Gap Bridger’s SAT test prep workshop is designed to provide 11th and 12th grade students with the requisite skills needed to prepare for the SAT college entrance exam. Our curriculum targets the two sections outlined on the SAT to include Math and Evidence-Based Reading, and Writing.  Students take multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test that are created and administered by the College Board. Students are also provided with general test-taking strategies to help them improve their preparedness and confidence for the day of the exam.  An overview of the SAT test registration process is also provided.  

 

ACT Test Prep Workshop

Gap Bridgers’ ACT test prep workshop is designed to provide 11th and 12th grade students with the requisite skills needed to prepare for the ACT college entrance exam. Our curriculum targets the four sections outlined on the ACT to include English, Math, Reading, and Science. Writing drills have also been incorporated into the curriculum to prepare students for the optional, non-scored writing section of the exam.  Students are provided official, multiple-choice, ACT practice test. Students are also provided with general test-taking strategies to help them with time management improve their preparedness and confidence for the day of the exam.  An overview of the ACT test registration process is also provided.  

 

ASVAB Test Prep Workshop

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test is a multiple-choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces. Gap Bridgers’ ASVAB test prep workshop is designed to provide students with tutoring and additional support to master the skills, as assessed, by the test.

Summer Academic Camps

We offer multi-week, week-long, and multi-day enrichment camps.  Students are provided with tools needed to successfully enter the next grade by reviewing skills covered in the prior school year, while also engaging in recreational activities for social development.  Summer reading material are also provided, to students, based on their reading level.
